Ants

17 05 2009

My house is being overrun by huge ants that fly. It’s the grossest thing ever.

And it’s like they’re drunk—they keep weaving around in the air before falling onto their backs. I can almost believe that it’s a new species of ant that evolved in my house—you get the feeling the ants don’t even realize they have wings.

Ugggh.

Ew. I’ve never heard of those.
Ew.
How about a video :D
Do you ever see lizards running around in the wild?

Cross my fingers… so far, no bugs in house.
I have a question..do you have air conditioning?
A friend of mine called me an Eskimo..I keep the temp at 65…Good Lord, it is hot outside!!!

Yes, maybe you could get some sort of lizard to eat the ants?
Some of them are really cute.

I’m going to try and temp down my natural reaction to your question out of politeness.

Of course we have air conditioning.

:) In Europe they use showers instead of tubs:)
My friend from Germany was all excited to use a bathtub when coming to the states:):)

Well…if you have air conditioning, why are there bugs in the house??:)

I sincerely do think this is fascinating..we don’t have flying ants, much less flying drunk ants here. That would be a funny video:)

What does air conditioning have to do with ants? As far as I know, ants can live in cold rooms.

And for the record, we have showers and tubs. And jacuzzis. And hot tubs.

Well, people who don’t use air conditioning usually open the windows. And, not everyone has screens on the windows

Ahh, ok then. But in Cairo buildings are usually around 10 stories so they’re not near the ground.

Were they there just for a short time? If so, maybe we have those too (in Australia). I don’t know what time of year, but now and then they are just EVERYWHERE inside the house. I’m used to it now. I say “oh that time again” then next day they’re gone.
